Breaking News: Duterte kay Lucio Tan: ‘Bilyong utang, bayaran sa loob ng 10-days kundi isasara ko PAL airport’
President Duterte said last night that if Lucio Tan failed to pay its tax debt within 10 days, it will close the airport of Philippine Airlines (PAL).
According to President Duterte, Tan's company does not pay for the use of the runway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
At the same time, President Duterte insisted that he did not care about Tan's business because he did not accept his campaign donation during the election.
BIR will be charged at P30 billion for Tan's unpaid taxes.
"You know, just what you're doing ... You just do not have lawyers at all here. You tell your clients "Pay the tax correctly." Your one here what, he says-I did not accept. I did not accept his money. He is a contributor. And I say that. Lucio Tan, donor of funds. I said, "No?" I said, "Thank you, but-" And other guys there. I said, you are using government buildings, airports, you have a back ... back-debt is the runway you do not pay. "I said," You solve the problem yourself. I will give you 10 days. You pay, 'when you do not pay, I do not know.' There is no airport. So what? "Said President Duterte.
