President Rodrigo Duterte gave the businessman Lucio Tan a ten-day deadline to pay the government's debt to the government.

President Duterte said last night that if Lucio Tan failed to pay its tax debt within 10 days, it will close the airport of Philippine Airlines (PAL).

According to President Duterte, Tan's company does not pay for the use of the runway at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
